Is your perfect pet expecting a litter soon!? Firstly, how exciting.
Secondly, you must be wondering what is safe for you to use to keep them and the newborns safe from fleas and worms during the pregnancy and once your pet is feeding them.
Don’t worry, there are options for you which have been shown to be safe to use.
For flea treatment, we would recommend the use of Bravecto. This is a three monthly flea, mite and tick tablet which can safely be used during pregnancy and lactation.
If tablets aren’t for you, we would recommend Stronghold as a spot-on treatment. This product covers fleas, mites and roundworms but does need to be done monthly.
For worming, we would recommend the use of Panacur. There are alternatives in tablet form but it would be best to speak to one of our vets about this as we can often guide you about the best times to treat with specific products to put your mind at ease!
