Why Vaccinate Your Pets?
We feel that vaccinations are an essential part of protecting your pets from serious but preventable diseases. Whilst vaccines are very effective at protecting each individual animal, they also significantly reduce the prevalence of disease in the general animal population.
With the advent of immunisation and improvements in scientific research, there has been a dramatic reduction in the number of cases however, these diseases and infections are still a persistent threat to the health of our pets. Regular vaccination still remains the best and most effective way to keep them safe.
Vaccinations for Dogs and Puppies
Puppies can be particularly susceptible to illnesses such as distemper, parvovirus and infectious hepatitis due to their immature immune systems. Should these illnesses go untreated, they are often life threatening. Properly vaccinated puppies will have protection against these illnesses and it will continue to protect them as they get older.
Our Healthy Paws Club pet health plan includes all the necessary vaccinations to give your dog the best possible start in life.
Vaccinations for Cats and Kittens
Like puppies, kittens can also be susceptible to infections. Among the more serious conditions that can strike unvaccinated kittens and cats are feline leukaemia, calicivirus, herpes virus and panleukopenia. Immunisations strengthen their immune system and provide a defence against these illnesses.
We offer a range of vaccinations and also our Healthy Paws Club pet health plan which includes all the vaccinations your cat or kitten may need to keep them healthy as they grow older.
Vaccinations for Rabbits
Just like dogs and cats we strongly advise that rabbits are vaccinated. The diseases that we vaccinate for are viral haemorrhagic disease (VHD 1 & 2) and myxomatosis. Your rabbit will be adequately safeguarded by a single injection, which was previously administered in two distinct injections.
Vaccinations are essential for protecting your rabbit from life-threatening diseases. We also recommend that your rabbit undergoes annual check-ups to ensure that it remains happy and healthy.
